USB 3.1 Type-C Solutions from TI and WE
The USB-C momentum is growing and quickly being adopted in a variety of end equipment. This new reversible & flippable ecosystem offers new possibilities for how applications will use and deliver power, data, and video.
The focus for this webinar is to introduce the audience to USB 3.1. It will include details about the new Type C connector and the benefits it brings, along with and an overview of how the USB specification has evolved to offer power levels to 100W and data rates up to 10Gbps – fast enough for even 4K video. With this increased performance come new challenges.
The webinar will also cover the topic of electrical specifications and necessary filtering to ensure reliable performance. Join us for the discussion on how this new technology will impact designs as we explain and highlight architectures and solutions to address the new challenges being introduced.
Speakers
- Kevin Jones is Senior Director of Marketing and Business Development for Advanced Circuit Solutions within TI’s Analog business where he manages TI’s investment in the USB-C/PD space. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Jones has developed significant expertise in the wireless and embedded semiconductor industry. Launching several product and business initiatives with significant revenue impact, Mr. Jones was a key contributor in advancing TI’s wireless and processor portfolio to the forefront of the Internet of Things Space.
- Frank Puhane has worked at Würth Elektronik eiSos as FAE / Technical Project Engineer for more than three years. In his role, Mr. Puhane supports customers in the areas of EMC and Power. Mr. Puhane is also involved in a great variety of in-house seminars. Mr. Puhane received his BEng in 2009 and until 2013 worked as a Hardware and Software Engineer for customer specific controls.
- Nicolas Prou has worked at Würth Elektronik eiSos (eiCan BU) as Product Manager for electromechanical components for 2.5 years. He develops and handles some I/O product ranges, especially on USB and Card connectors. He received his HDN in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing in 2007 and Engineering Degree in Electronics and Applied Physics in 2010. He then worked in innovation and development of base-station transmitters for three years.
